Preparation for Show Season

Posted on 17th February, 2015

Part of my preparations for the summer show season is to start a number of works that can be worked to a point where the general public will have a flavour of the completed work the level of detail and the quality of work, whilst still leaving enough of the final work that needs completing at the show to add a level of animation to what otherwise would be a static display of packaged artwork that you could see at any retail outlet..

The ultimate aim is of course to generate interest and sales obviously, but part of the joys of demonstrating is when people return to see your progress through out the day,Some times you have the opportunity to talk to fellow artists which is always a great privilege. The ultimate thrill for me comes when a lapsed artist shares their interest and through the course of the conversation agrees that they will lift a brush again in anger.
